It appears that your firewall may be blocking trisys.co.uk or you are encountering an error.

Please contact your IT administrator to configure your firewall to recognize all sub-domains of trisys.co.uk and trisys.biz The ports that should be opened for these domains are 80 and 443.

If that does not resolve the issue, then please submit a support ticket at http://www.trisys.co.uk/support.

TriSys ASP customers are able to install and run both TriSys Version 8 and Office on their own computers to access all of their data (recruitment database, folders/files and e-mail) in the cloud. This page describes the process in detail. But first, here are some typical questions you might have before getting started:

Why run TriSys and Office on my local PC?

There are three main benefits to running TriSys ASP in this way:

·         Speed – if your computer is newer than 3 years old, it is likely that it will be capable of running business applications faster than a cloud-server supporting hundreds of concurrent users.

·         Responsiveness – running TriSys and Office locally will be more responsive because every key click, mouse movement and screen data does not need to be sent to the server, and back again, greatly improving interactivity.

·         Reduced Monthly Subscription – because we do not have to provide as much capacity in our cloud-infrastructure, we are able to pass on those savings directly to our customers. The reduction in subscription price is £10 per user per month.

Is this a future-proof solution?

TriSys ASP was designed a decade ago when many recruiters did not have fast broadband telecommunications, hence the remote desktop protocol (RDP) was a convenient and fast way to access enormous processing power in the cloud. In 2011 however, most recruiters have fast broadband in both their office and home work environments, and faster, more capable computers than was available 10 years ago. The investment TriSys has made in both its server and client software technology now allows ASP customers to break free from the restrictions of RDP and fully realise the full potential of a software plus services solution.

How can I get started?

The following section details how to setup your local PC, but first there are some prerequisites:

·         You must have a valid and authenticated TriSys ASP account and know your credentials.

·         You must have either Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010 or later installed on your PC which must be running either Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7.

·         Your computer must have at least 200Mb of free disk space, at least 1Gb of memory (RAM), and a multi-core CPU.

Detailed Setup Procedure

This is the main section of this page and describes in detail how to install and run TriSys v8 ASP Client-Server:

1.             Close all Programs

This is necessary so that TriSys is able to correctly configure your system for access to TriSys. You may also ensure that you have sufficient privilege to install programs on your computer, and that you are connected to the internet.

2.             Install TriSys ASP Configurator

This is required in order to orchestrate the download of the necessary components to facilitate secure authenticated and reliable access to cloud services.

Please click here to install the TriSys ASP Configurator.

3.             Authenticate TriSys ASP Credentials

Once the configurator is running, it will display itself in the centre of the screen ready to accept the Active Directory Credentials. These credentials are the same credentials used to login to the TriSys ASP desktop:

Enter your login name and password and then press the Authenticate button. Unless you have a large range of devices on your computer, the Map Drive setting should be left pointing at G:\.

If your credentials are authenticated against both the ASP active directory and TriSys’ customer databases, the Install Applications tab will be selected.

4.             Install Applications

In this step, you will install the TriSys components to allow access from your desktop computer:

The following default components are selected:

·         TriSys Version 8 – The TriSys Recruitment Software database and workflow application

·         Outlook Add-In – The outlook toolbar buttons for managing E-Mail in your InBox

·         Web Drive – The mapped G:\ drive cloud storage utility

Press the Install button to begin the download and installation of these programs. A progress bar will be displayed beneath the list of applications indicating the stages of this process which should take only a few minutes:

When the applications are installed, they should be shown in the Installed Applications list box:

5.             Configure Service

In this step, you configure the service to work as optimally as possible:

The options which should be selected are:

·         Start Web Drive Automatically – a G:\ drive is mapped to TriSys ASP cloud services

·         Open Cloud Service Firewall Automatically – dynamically open the remote firewall once authenticated to allow full access

·         TriSys Version 8 – the TriSys application will be assigned full functionality

Press the Save button to commit these changes to the system. Close the configurator by clicking on the white cross top right. The configurator will remain operational in the windows task bar as shown so that it can monitor the status of the ASP system:

6.             Login to TriSys

Start TriSys either by clicking on the desktop icon, or by using the StartàAll ProgramsàTriSys 8.0àTriSys 8.0 shortcut.

TriSys should automatically login and a G:\ drive should be created in Windows Explorer pointing at your TriSys folders and files (CV’s, templates, images etc..).

Congratulations; you should now be running TriSys version 8 on your desktop utilising the full capabilities of a client-server architecture with cloud services.

Troubleshooting

The TriSys ASP Configurator is a well tested utility, however should you still encounter errors, look at the following before contacting us:

·         TriSys Configurator is unable to connect: This is probably because you have incorrectly entered your credentials, so please retry, or contact us directly.

·         Applications unable to install: Check whether you have enough disk space and that you are running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7.

·         Unable to install Outlook add-in: Make sure that Outlook is properly shutdown before installing the TriSys applications. Sometimes Outlook will not close down properly so use Windows Task Manager to kill the Outlook.exe process if it is still running.

·         Unable to connect to the G:\ drive via WebDrive: It may be that you already have a G:\ drive mapped to another device. Please remove this device and assign to another drive letter before re-installing Web Drive to force a connection to the G:\ drive. TriSys v8 is unable at present to connect to other drive letters.

·         WebDrive license key incorrect: If you cannot activate your web drive license, it may be because your key is incorrect or that it has expired. Please contact us for a new key.

·         TriSys unable to connect. This is almost certainly because you have not checked the firewall connection check box in the configure services tab. Please double check this. It may also be because you have not successfully authenticated your credentials therefore registered your PC with our firewall protection mechanism. The final reason is that you may have an extremely defensively configured firewall on your computer or network which prevents external access through certain ports. In this case, please contact us so that we can work around this.

·         TriSys running very slowly. This will be the case if your computer is old or is improperly configured or does not have enough memory. It may be better to continue to use RDP if this is the case, or to purchase a new modern computer. We are able to advise you on this.

·         TriSys is unstable or crashes. Many home computers are filled with malicious software such as adware, malware, viruses or freeware. These ‘silent-but-deadly’ programs eat up your PC’s processing power thus degrading the performance of your business applications. A thorough cleaning/upgrading of your operating system may be required. We are able to advise you on this.

Summary

TriSys ASP V8 Client-Server is an alternative method of utilising the power of the cloud which will offer much better performance and usability for those customers who have a modern powerful computer and fast/reliable broadband internet. It does this by maximising the powerful PC processors/memory for windows operations and the enormous processing and storage capabilities of the cloud thus splitting the work and minimising the amount of traffic through the internet connection.

This mechanism does not replace the existing TriSys ASP technology, rather it is complementary, allowing further choice to you, our customers.
