Mobile Handset configuration for Exchange Direct Push and Exchange ActiveSync

In this document we will step through configuring Exchange Direct Push on compatible devices.

Exchange Direct Push Configuration

For Exchange Direct Push to work the Phone\PDA needs to have the Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) installed and running Windows Mobile 5.0.   If your phone is new it will have come with this functionality as standard but if your phone is not compatible you can use the ActiveSync method.

As you would in Windows start by clicking the > Start button

Then Select > Programs

Then Select >ActiveSync from the Programs

You need to select the device to Sync with an Exchange server

Within ActiveSync select> Menu

Enter the TriSys Exchange Server Details

.

7. Add the TriSys Server name> www.trisys.biz

8. Enter your TriSys credentials then click advanced:

Username: Your ASP Username

Password:  Your ASP Password

DOMAIN:   TRISYS

You can choose to replace items on the handheld if there is a conflict or replace them

Select which items you want to sync from the TriSys Exchange Server

 Initiate the Wireless Sync

There is a second section which needs to be configured to enable the Direct push and this is in Menu > Schedule > during peak times Set the interval to "As new items arrive".

You will also need to enable Direct Push on the handheld.  This needs to be done from > Programs > Comm. Manager
