GDI leaks fixed. Forms do not leak GDI objects when closed.

Retain form in Memory user option is now persistable. When checked (default setting), forms are made invisible when closed, but not removed from memory. This has the advantage of allowing it to be quickly redisplayed when next opened. When unchecked, forms are unloaded from memory, freeing up GDI's, however form loading will be slower.

Improved compatibility with Microsoft SQL Server 2008.

New System Setting "'EMAIL: Send Via Email-Server Program" which selects whether to use the TriSys Bulk-Email tool or continue sending via Outlook.

Amending a shift end date that exceeds the temporary end date on a requirement will now update the end date.

Retain the Ribbon setting for "Minimize the Ribbon" between invocations. This is useful for customers running 1024x768 resolutions where some forms have been designed with the original toolbar, and do not fit on-screen when using the ribbon. This is the UsrCfgUsers setting for FName = 'Ribbon Minimised' and takes effect when the FName = 'Ribbon Mode' setting is True.

Sender and Recipient e-mail addresses are in "Display Name" <E-Mail Address> format when used in bulk e-mail actions. This ensures that the e-mail shows the display name of the sender when viewed by the recipient in their respective e-mail software.

E-Mail Server utility looks for a leading chevron < in the body when determining whether to send an HTML e-mail or not.

E-Mail Server utility filters out malformed e-mail addresses.

Running actions against lists of contact selected using the Shift key no longer reports the incorrect number of contacts or duplicates the contacts during the mail merge.

DbMigration no longer errors when the Call action does not exist.

DbMigration now creates the EMailMessage table which will be used for bulk e-mail. It will be used when the e-mail server has daily limits on the number of e-mails which can be sent.

New E-Mail Server utility to deliver bulk e-mails with govenor capability to limit messages per scan per database to optimise and share the SMTP delivery server in an ASP environment. Utility can now deliver HTML messages with multiple attachments.

New method SendDatabaseEMailMessage on EMailGateway object to write an e-mail message to the EMailMessage table and also map the G:\ path to the UNC path so that the e-mail server can get the absolute path without having to do the mapping itself.

The Send E-Mail(s) Without Confirmation check box in the action form will prompt the user to confirm when the Go button is pressed and will deliver the e-mail via the EMailMessage table and the E-Mail Server utility to deliver the e-mail through a separate SMTP gateway rather than through the users Outlook client.

Can now turn skin framework off in low-memory environments such as RDP sessions by using the Options->Interface->Skin Framework Enabled check box. The user must logout and in again for this setting to have any effect. This setting should only be used when 'memory could not be read' errors occur on a regular basis. When turning the skin framework off, copy the TriSys8.exe.manifest into the application folder in order to obtain the default XP application themes.

When performing grid filtering using the modal filter form, entering an invalid search results in only one error message. Typically this error occurs when attempting to use the 'Contains' operator on an integer field. When this occurs, change the 'Contains' to a numerical operator such as Equal To, Greater Than or Less Than.

Object variable error in some grid filter operations now supressed.

Pop-up modal grids, now have only the filter and column selection toolbar buttons.

TriSys Outlook Add-In now identifies which TriSys processes are running in the current RDP session, and also tolerates duplicate e-mail addresses in sender and recipient e-mail lists.

Sovren CV Parser integrated with TriSys CV Auto-Recognition. This provides CVAR of demographics, work history, education history, skills and a candidate summary. Turn on external parsers by using the "CVAR: Parser Name" system setting. Values should be either "Sovren", or "Daxtra". Set the value to blank when using the native TriSys CV parser.

CV Auto-Recognition will now overcome locking problems with Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files.

New field type: DocumentEditor. This can be used to provide WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) document viewing of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project, Web Pages, Images, PDF. This field is available in all forms. The new field has a button to the left which allows the end-user to choose the view most appropriate for the current document.

CV Auto-Recognition now functions with the new DocumentEditor field type when the 'CVARConfigFields.rtfCV' field has its FieldTypeId changed to 51 (the Id of the DocumentEditor field type). CVAR now displays the Print view of the loaded CV and is now fully compatible with Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Full drag/drop of text operates as before, but it is now possible to drill into the header/footer and drag/drop demographics.

DbMigration utility adds the DocumentEditor field type and prompts to update the 'CVARConfigFields.rtfCV' field type.

Setup kit does not add TriSys into the Startup group.

Call action does not refresh the form when loaded from a Requirement or Placement. When run from the Contact form however, the contact form is refreshed to reflect the changes to availability date and status fields.

New field type: Password. This is used to capture a password field with the following characteristics:

Text entered is only echoed as an asterisk (*) character thus masking the password.

After entering the password either by moving to another field or pressing <Return> will pop-up a verification window to re-enter the password to match that entered in the form.

The password text is stored in encrypted form in the database to provide an additional level of security protection.

Application is now fully programmable as an ActiveX automation server through the new CAutomation interface. Please read this document for additional information on how to write custom code, add-ins, scripts etc.. to make full use of the TriSys functionality.

New Version 8 specific Unit Testing utility utilises the new automation interface. Stress testing functionality and command line options removed from application as this is now obsolete and is managed exclusively by the unit testing utility.

OutlookVBAInterface object now has .AddEMailAddress and .AddAttachment methods which can be used by .Net components instead of the collection properties.

OutlookVBAInterface object now parses the sender e-mail address into a name if possible. For example if the sender e-mail address is 'fred.bloggs@hotmail.com' then TriSys will parse fred and bloggs as the forename/surname.

New Outlook Add-In based on .Net technology replaces the existing V8 COM-Add-In. This provides additional functionality including use of a ribbon tab in the Mail dialogue in Office 2007.

The new system setting: "CONTACT: Formatted CV Template" can be used to specify a word document which will be prepended to the original CV when using the CV manager. This will merge using the standard .tmm Word mail merge.

Client Code Outlook Automation Agent dependency removed now that the new .Net Outlook Add-In has replaced the legacy COM add-in.

Removed ctlButtonMenu from Alpha Grid control onto centralised application properties form. This greatly reduces the GDI count per grid therefore minimising resource requirements on forms with numerous grid instances.

Integrated Security now enabled to allow connection to SQL Server using trusted windows active directory authentication. A new check box is available in the login setup form which allows for this connection mode to be turned on.

When the G:\Help is remoted through WebDAV, the TriSys8.config file cannot be read due to security limitations. In this case, TriSys will look for TriSys8.ini in the same folder if TriSys8.config cannot be read. The TriSys8.ini file should be an identical copy of TriSys8.config.

Diary – the diary is based on the Outlook 2007 calendar and provides a host of new features and right mouse click options. A new note/history, scheduled task dialogue is available for very easy to use task recording and scheduling.

Administrator Console – the system administration functions such as user maintenance, attributes/lookups, system settings, form designs and SQL manager are all conveniently centralised in the new administrator console.

Data Import – a very simple import tool is provided to allow for the import of Excel spreadsheets and comma separated value files.

Graphical Organigram – design graphical organisational charts of any client company using drag and drop with full drill down.

Relationships – map relationships between contacts from any organisation such as ‘went to school with’, ‘friend of’ etc..

F1 Help – a completely new on-line help system with integrated search and indexing is available directly from the F1 key on any form.

User Guide – a new 500+ page manual is available to all training delegates as well as download or purchase from on-line book stores.

Windows Services – all utilities such as document indexing, e-mail synchronisation, message broadcasting etc.. have been converted to run as windows services for ‘lights-out’ operation during the normal ‘service pack’ upgrade cycle.

Setup Kit – a new Microsoft Windows installer (MSI) setup kit is available which installs on all versions of windows including the latest Windows 2008 Server and Vista.

Template Editor – a new mail-merge document template editor has been developed.

Graphics viewer – the image control has been upgraded to display the latest types of graphic files including PDF.

Word 2007 Support – CV Auto-recognition can now process native Word 2007 .docx files.
