The key to the rectangle colours is as follows:

Candidate Checked In The candidate has safely arrived at the client premises to work the shift. |

|
Candidate Confirmed The candidate has confirmed that they will work the shift and a contract for the shift pattern has been generated. |
|
|
Candidate Assigned The candidate has been dragged into the empty slot from the search results grid, but not yet confirmed. |
|
|
Empty Slot The shift/slot does not have any candidates assigned to it. |
|
|
Empty Slot (White: Can Work) The shift is empty and the candidate is able to work this shift. Shifts displaying this colour combination are shown for each candidate selected in the Candidates tab grid when the Show which shifts the selected candidate can work check box is ticked:
