SQL Server Computer

This tab is used to connect to a SQL Server computer located on the local network.

There are 4 fields:

      SQL Server Computer: This is the name of the server computer which holds the database. The full name of the server &/or the server name and instance name of the SQL Server must be entered. The spyglass button to the right of the field allows for selection of the server from the list of available servers in the connected domain.

      Database Name: This is the name of the database within the above SQL Server. The spyglass button to the right of the field allows for selection of the database from the list of available databases on the SQL Server and can be used when the correct login name and password has been supplied in the fields below.

      Login Name: This is the login name of the system administrator account on the SQL Server computer. It is normally sa.

      Password: This is the password of the system administrator account on the SQL Server computer. It will be known only to the system administrator and like all other password fields, is shown with asterisk (*) characters only.
