This is the gradiated colour bar shown at the top of this area. The icon of the selected task type and its name appears to the left. The colour of this task type is the colour used to display the task in the diary.
The Task Type is selected from the Task Type button in the ribbon as described in the previous section.
The Task Type indicator is visible from all views for convenience as it is an important attribute.
