The Ribbon
The TriSys 8.0 Ribbon is a new feature which is based upon the Ribbon innovations introduced by Microsoft in Office 2007:
The Ribbon has a number of features:
• Combines the Menu and Toolbars into 1 area where all system functions can be found.
• Replicates the buttons found on the Navigation Bar so that the Navigation Bar can be hidden, whilst still retaining easy access to the main system functions.
• Provides small and large icons, captions and tooltips for easy navigation.
• Ribbon can be hidden or minimized.
• Form specific Contextual Tabs. These are tabs which appear on the Ribbon and contain functionality relevant to the open form
The ribbon is made up of a series of tabs, similar in name to the version 7 menu:
Within each tab is a set of buttons relevant to the tab caption:
