This document features a tutorial on how to implement company contact hierarchies.

Build 5.00.095 or later must be installed in order to enable these features.

 

Form Designer

 

Add the widget to the company form from the Field Selection dialogue:

 

                  

 

No further configuration is necessary as there are no associated buttons or grids.

 

 

User Operation

 

When a company record is open, the user can add contacts using the right mouse button click.

 

 

 

For the first relationship i.e. one where no existing contact has been selected, the user will select 2 company contacts (only contacts working for this company are displayed):

 

       

 

The user is then asked to define the relationship between them:

 

 

In this scenario, the relationship between the first contact and the second contact is Staff, which means that the second contact works for the first contact.

This is shown in the hierarchy:

 

 

To define further relationships, the user selects the 'base' contact and uses the right mouse button to define the relationship.

This demonstration shows how to use the lookup keys on the selection dialogue to easily find the company contact:

 

          

 

 

Deleting Relationships

 

To delete a relationship, use the right mouse button operation again, but this time choose the Delete Relationship option.

If there is more than 1 relationship, you will be asked to choose which one to delete:
